Journey 4 Josh connects children with extracurricular activities that create positive behaviors and nurture personal well-being. Children discover their creativity and talents through arts, crafts, performing arts, creative writing, athletics, fitness, and summer camps.

We recognize that Wilmington is fortunate to have many organizations that offer wholesome activities for children and does not seek to recreate or compete, but rather to fund access and provide support to existing opportunities for children who would otherwise not be able to participate.

J4J not only provides monetary support, but its members also seek to support each child by attending activities and encouraging a sense of self-worth.

J4J was created as a way to channel Patty Proutey’s grief into a vessel for good. She chose to create a foundation to honor Josh’s memory and help prevent future tragedies by giving at-risk children an opportunity to experience empowering activities and programs that they’re passionate about, and that show them the pathway to a better future.

Kids get to use their Visa gift card to pick out exactly what they want for their birthday. And since the average party collects about 300 bucks, that's a lot of dough for a kid. Plus, kids get  that unique feeling of pride and joy that you can only experience as a result of helping animals in need.

Parents of the birthday kid love to be able to provide a real-life lesson in giving and the importance of being charitable. Parents love that their kids get to experience the fun and fellowship of a birthday party without having to deal with the massive amount of unwanted, unneeded and often duplicated presents (NO MORE STUFF).

Parents of the party guests can quickly and easily RSVP and give a gift. They love avoiding the trip to the store, the guessing game of what to buy and the gift wrap ordeal. Plus, they know their money isn't being wasted and it's going to a good cause.
