Raleigh Moms Care is founded on the principle that service to others is our highest calling in life. Our primary mission is offering relief and assistance to impoverished babies & children who do not have basic necessities or comforts for everyday life. We are a community of moms who use our strength in numbers and fill in the gaps to assist other youth focused local charities such as Note in the Pocket, InterAct, Young Lives, and many others where we feel we are needed most both on a one-time and ongoing basis. We accept donations of gently used baby gear (strollers, car seats, cribs, high chairs) and match them up with deserving local families through social workers or other charities who lack the specific supplies in which work hard to keep in stock. We have been successful raising donations through drives and the generosity of our community, however we are currently having to turn away donations until we raise enough funds to find a space that we can not only store the donations, but also offer a safe drop-off location for people who are ready to give.
In line with our focus on children as a priority, we also give a biannual grant to local teachers to help them with school supplies that they otherwise could not afford for their classroom. With the additional funds we raise, we would love to expand this program to larger grants and offer assistance to more classrooms, and in the future to offer a scholarship to help with continuing education for those that can not afford it on their own. We aim to provide volunteer opportunities for anyone who wants to get involved in their community but doesn’t know where to start, and we strive to help families volunteer together and especially get our youth involved in giving at a young age.
Kids get to use their Visa gift card to pick out exactly what they want for their birthday. And since the average party collects about 300 bucks, that's a lot of dough for a kid. Plus, kids get that unique feeling of pride and joy that you can only experience as a result of helping animals in need.
Parents of the birthday kid love to be able to provide a real-life lesson in giving and the importance of being charitable. Parents love that their kids get to experience the fun and fellowship of a birthday party without having to deal with the massive amount of unwanted, unneeded and often duplicated presents (NO MORE STUFF).
Parents of the party guests can quickly and easily RSVP and give a gift. They love avoiding the trip to the store, the guessing game of what to buy and the gift wrap ordeal. Plus, they know their money isn't being wasted and it's going to a good cause.
